I am a software engineer who likes difficult systems and unclear problems.
I've spent 10+ years building software, most of that time on applications large enough that no single person holds the whole system in their head. That's the environment I like: you have to read code carefully, ask better questions, and be honest about what you actually know.
I started on the frontend and gradually moved into broader full-stack and product engineering — data models, APIs and backend logic as much as interfaces. Along the way I've specialized in the unglamorous parts: performance, build tooling, legacy code and the architectural decisions that either compound or quietly cost you for years.
More recently, AI-assisted development became a real part of that work. I was the first in my team to use coding agents systematically, and most of what I learned was about engineering practice rather than prompting: how to scope work so its output can be reviewed, and where an agent genuinely changes the cost of a task.
School 21
I also spent around 2.5 years in School 21, based on the École 42 peer-to-peer model, working with C, C++, Unix, algorithms and low-level programming under constant peer code review. No lectures and no step-by-step instructions: you learn to read other people's code, defend your own decisions, and find your way into problems nobody has explained to you.
Thinking, explicitly
Outside software engineering, I spent 300+ hours in intensive group-based training focused on structured thinking, cognitive biases, problem decomposition and communication — an independent educational program, not an academic degree. I later worked there as a mentor and supervisor.
This experience strongly influenced the way I approach mentoring, problem solving and technical discussions: separating facts from interpretations, noticing where a decision is actually being made, and saying the uncomfortable part clearly.
Outside work
Gymnastics and sport keep me sane, and travelling keeps me curious. Most of my non-work reading lands somewhere between engineering and how people make decisions.
